The Quest Healthcare Speaker Program continues on May 5th, 2022 with a live discussion on The Neurologically Impaired Gut in Children: Little Brain Issues in the Large Intestine by Dr. Rina Sanghavi.

Overview of The Neurologically Impaired Gut in Children

In this educational, live conversation, Dr. Sanghavi will dive into a variety of topics related to causes, symptoms, and treatment for dysfunctional bowel in children. She will also discuss normal gut motility referencing her extensive expertise in motility issues such as anorectal malformations, constipation, functional GI disorders, and irritable bowel syndrome. Additionally, Neurogenic Bowel Management will be reviewed from both a medical and surgical stance, as well as the physiology of defecation.

Meet the Speaker: Dr. Rina Sanghavi

Dr. Rina Sanghavi, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.A.P. is a Pediatric Neurogastroenterologist at U.T Southwestern Medical Center/Children’s Health, Children’s Medical Center Dallas. She practices in the division of Pediatric gastroenterology and is an associate professor and Director of Pediatric Neurogastroenterology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, also in Dallas.

 

In addition to helping establish the Aerodigestive clinic, the chronic abdominal pain program, motility, and biofeedback program, she also holds several administrative and leadership positions. These roles include serving as the President of the Medical-Dental Staff and Director of the Office of Faculty Engagement, Director of the Office of Faculty Engagement, as well as leading as vice-chair of the Professional Development Committee for NASPGHAN, the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.
